Bee Global for a Selection of Robbinsville’s Finest Gifts
The Tapoco Lodge is located in Graham County, NC. Graham County is unique in many ways but one of my favorite things to do here is to visit the remarkable artists that practice and sell their wares. The County and this area of Western North Carolina seems to attract artists of all kinds and there are numerous opportunities to find wonderful gifts to bring home with you. One of my favorite stops is Bee Global. If you drive along Highway 28 in Graham County south to Stecoah, turn onto Lower Stecoah Road and follow the signs you will discover this most remarkable art studio where beeswax products are designed and sold that will delight your soul. The store is surrounded by a garden consisting of native plants loved and enjoyed by honey bees.
The first thing you will notice when you walk into the studio is the wonderful fragrance. It sweeps through you and sends your senses soaring. The smell of beeswax is a wonderful thing. As you look into the room you will see light and color and feel surrounded by a glow that does not come only from the sun or the flickering candles. The studio is owned by Jeff and Crim Bassett. Jeff and Crim felt strongly that they wanted a life that was focused on joy, family and creativity. When they developed their signature product, a globe made with beeswax with a design of colorful flowers embedded in the wax, they knew they had found a pathway to that goal. The globe is designed to hold a tealight within, that when lit, causes the globe to warmly glow. I bought one of their glowlights fifteen years ago and it is still in my living room and looks as beautiful as when I bought it. Their design is unique and as I’ve traveled I have seen other replicas of the globes in giftshops. None compare to the original, which is produced right here in Graham County.
Often, our guests at Tapoco Lodge ask me what unique products they can find here that would help them recall the beauty and peace of the mountains. I have a list of special places to visit and shop and Bee Global is always on it. Their products are all beautiful and the prices vary so that anyone can feel comfortable shopping at their store. They also feature stained glass suncatchers which are homemade and some of the most exquisite stained glass work I have ever seen, and I do stained glass work myself!
Bee Global offers for sale their Bee Globes, Ornaments, Pillar candles and tea lights (both scented and unscented), lamps and beeswax cards. They are located on 1633 Lower Stecoah Road off of Highway 28 in Graham County and you can find them on the internet at www.beeglow.com. You should definitely plan an afternoon of shopping while you are here and make sure to include this store on your list. You won’t be disappointed.
